So we got to visit the food buffet which I had not gone to in ages. Heck my Mother has been wanting to visit that place for a long time so I surprised her by treating her to one of her favorite restaurants. She is so dag on skinny she should be stuffing her face at the food bar! But oh well she did not eat much, sigh. Neither could I (I am so out of practice!). I managed to fill my plate with all the healthy options that I possibly could and tried to make sure I was able to eat what I served myself. Upon filing my plate I felt staring eyes of my food choices and piled plate (enclosed photograph). If there is one person thing I soon noticed upon my forced overstay in the island is that people have lost their way here and have ‘Americanized’. What I mean they have adopted a very junk food approach to eating. As a matter of fact in the entire restaurant I think we were in the minority among a few scattered on not being overweight. I just can not understand how the lady looking at my food choices did not go and emulate what she saw! I think I should had held a sign saying, free health choice counseling available! Or someone outside with a sign please do not enter unless you are willing to squat or run a few lapse after you choose junk food your heart will skip a positive beat! I just do not get it at all, after hurricane Maria the island is finally doing better, people should take advantage and make intelligent food choices after the longest period eating war food (do not let me start with the FEMA ‘meals’ they passed to the few able to endure extreme heat in far away places to pick up ‘food’). Our bodies need detox! I am so grateful we had healthier options in that buffet. My only vice was the bread which we enjoyed a tad too much, just ask my Mother!
If you visit a food buffet overlook the heavy pastas and fried food, don’t give into food coma or worse! Besides sexy abs are still in.
