Today I went to my sister in law place, to show me how I can make the Mauritian dholl puri , with her mother in law which always taking the orders of dholl puri, and all the family like to buy from her, because she is a professional and has a big experience , so I asked her to can teach me how I can prepare a successful dholl puri and to give me the secret of this mauritian flatbread.
I went there and I prepared with them all step by step, to can learn all the details of this yummy recipe.
For make this appetizing Mauritian flatbread you need:
first step:
- you have to prepare the dough:
- flour depends on the quantity which you want to make.
- salt
- ordinary water mixed with food color
- oil
- mix all the ingredients until you get a soft dough.
- form a small ball .
second step:
- 500 gms of dholl gram
- salt
- cumin powder
- boil the dholl gram with little salt , and crushed it and add little cumin powder.
- form a ball with the mixture of dholl gram .
- Spread the small ball with your hands , and stuff it with the ball of dholl gram, and close it well .
- Put little flour and spread the balls finely.
- put little oil in the pan , and cook it for 1 min , then turn it quick.
- don’t let it to get brown color, just put it for 1 minute to turn it , because quickly will cook.
As you are seeing, these are the Mauritian flatbread when became ready to have them with the Mauritian curry!!!!
The Mauritian eat dholl puri with the indian kheer.
Kheer is the basmati rice which cooked with milk and almonds and sugar .
