Hello Steemians,
today I would like to present You one meal I prepared few days ago.
Buckwheat is a warming and delightful match to the grilled seitan steaks and the carrot + cauliflower sauce gives the juiciness to the plate. All in all it's a simple yet satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
100 g (grams) of buckwheat
100 g of carrot (aprox. 4 big carrots)
100 g of cauliflower
150 g of seitan
2 dl of tomato sauce
1/3 table spoon (ts) of thyme
1 ts of salt (I put Himalayan)
1/3 ts of pepper
For the seitan steaks:
2 ts of mustard
1/3 ts of smoked paprika (pepper)
3 ts of coconut oil
For the decoration:
2 leaves of green salad
2 springs of rosemary
Preparation:
First of all, slice the seitan into two steaks and them in half.
Marinade them in mustard and smoked pepper.
Let it rest in that marinade for now. Next we prepare buckwheat.
Wash it in two waters and put it in a cooking pot with twice as much water. Add a little salt and cook it for about 10 minutes. Turn the heat off, cover the pot and let it rest.
The sauce:
Wash the carrots and cauliflower.
Cut them in thin slices.
Put them in a pot with hot coconut oil and simmer for 2 minutes. Add a little bit of water and simmer for 5 more minutes. Add salt, pepper and tomato sauce to it. Cook for two more minutes and it's done!
Grilled saitan steaks:
Preheat frying pan with 3 table spoons of coconut oil and when the oil is hot grill the seitan stakes for 2 minutes; 1 minute each side.
When done let them dry out on a paper towel.
We are done!
You can use any kind of eatable garnish to decorate Your plate. I used few leaves of green salad and a strings of rosemary. to complete my dish.
I hope You enjoyed!
P.S. I would like to thank my girlfriend for making these photos!
