Method of Preparation
Washing of Fruits
Wash the oranges well to remove contaminants that are present on the surface of oranges. Washing must be the first step when you are preparing any fruit based product in which peel has to be used.
Preparation of Oranges
Remove any damaged part of the oranges and cut the whole into smaller pieces so that juice can be extracted maximum.
Cooking
Put the oranges in the pan, the amount of whole sugar is added to the recipe and the contents of the pan are mixed. Put a fruit pot on the stove and cook on low heat for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally until you see boiling. The ideal setting temperature for orange jam is 105 degrees Celsius/220 degrees Fahrenheit. At this point, the marmalade should be ready and you can pick it up from a hot place. Test whether the marmalade is placed on a cold spoon, and if it does not work, it is ready. If this is the case, fire for a long time and repeat the test until it stops working. Use a handheld blender to reduce the marmalade to mud so you only leave small pieces of the marmalade for structure.
Filling
When preparing the jars, soak them in hot steam or hot water for about 30 minutes to reduce or remove the microorganisms and contaminants from the jars. If we do not do this, microorganisms may grow and cause foodborne illness and food rot. Pour the marmalade into a clean, sterilized bottle. Store in a cool, dry place and open it in the refrigerator.
