This has got to be one of the cutest thing I've ever cooked. Well technically I don't make them asides from just deep frying them in the deep fryer. But nonetheless, cute!
My iPhone even had the 'face recognition' thinggy pop up when taking a pic of this.
It recognised the front three potato smileys as faces so it had it focus on them. That was funny :D
Anyway, on to what it taste like. It taste like potatoes, obviously, but more specifically, it tasted like mash potatoes. It's exterior is crispy and sturdy from the deep frying so you get a crunch when you bite into it.
But as soon as your teeth sinks into the crispy and crunchy exterior you're met with the most creamy and soft potatoes. The best way to describe it is that it's like eating deep fried mash potatoes. Best of all, you're greeted with a smiley before you bite them.
I played a little with the sauces I was dipping the smileys in. I made the smiley have chilli sauce hair, chilli sauce beard and a mouth full of barbecue sauce. It brings the little kid in you to just have fun with your food before you devour it.
I think kids would really like this so I'm giving it a shot and see how it sells on the food truck. I mean, I sure did have fun with them. And best of all, they taste really good too :D
