What is Marmite?
As a child I thought Marmite was made from meat. It tasted kinda like condensed roast beef to me. It wasn't till my vegetarian phase that I found out Marmite is made from yeast extract so it's fine for veggies to eat it.
I find it best to eat Marmite with other fresher tasting foods as it is very salty. I enjoy it spread thinly on toast or crackers with a topping of sliced tomatoes or cottage cheese.
I really recommend the latter even if you hate Marmite and cottage cheese separately. Together they are magic!
As shown on the front of the Marmite label, it contains B complex vitamins including thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), folic acid (B9) and vitamin B12.
Always check out food regulations before you eat things you haven't tried before.

Cheesy Marmite Omelette
Ingredients
2 eggs
25g grated cheddar cheese
4g Marmite
black pepper - season to taste
You could also add 2 chopped tomatoes for variety.
Preparation
Step One: Crack the eggs into a cup and beat with a fork. Season with some black pepper.
Step Two: Grease a frying pan and heat until it’s ready to cook. Pour the eggs into the centre and spread the mixture to the edges.
Step Three: Sprinkle the cheese onto the eggs while they cook and add the Marmite over the top.
Step Four: After a couple of minutes (once the eggs have had a chance to cook) fold the omelette in half and squeeze the two sides together.
Step Five: Serve with a mixed salad.
I hope you enjoy it!
