One thing I always heard about Methodists is that they love to eat. Food must be present at most events. I guess that's why we have so many members who love contributing to our Bake Sales at the Lacey Farmers Market, which is held every Friday in the parking lot of the Lacey United Methodist Church. Cupcakes, brownies, blondies, whoopie pies, banana bread, blueberry cakes and linzer tarts are some of the tasty sweets for sale in an effort to raise money for the church.
Baked with love, this table usually empties out before the Farmers Market is over. Beginning at 11:00am, the event runs until 5:00pm, weather permitting. Whether I am helping set up or just promoting something at the church, I never leave without spending some money to satisfy my sweet tooth. I have my favorite desserts, but in actuality, there is something for everyone. They are scheduled to host their next one on September 1st. If you stop by, do check out some of the other booths selling items that include fruit, jewelry, soap, coffee and woodworking. Last time I was there, I came home with an Amethyst pendant, a banana bread and a whoopie pie.
