Lately, you have probably noticed a lot of food posts from me. Don't worry, I will get back to reviewing comic books and other stuff. I do visit many restaurants and food does bring people together. Most importantly, I am in the middle of signing up restaurants for a fundraising event for the Lacey United Methodist Church known as Bounty Of The Bay. The church is located in Forked River, New Jersey. This is an annual food tasting event and I also noticed that more of these types of events have been taking place since we started them a few years back. I am not saying we created the idea because it isn't a new one but I never noticed the amount that are popping up now before.
Ours is taking place on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 6PM. A Silent Auction will also be held that night. This year we are doing the event in Fellowship Hall at the church. Tickets are limited and going fast at $35.00. Already signed up to participate are Chinese Gourmet, CJ's, Sunrise Bagels, Captain's Inn and La Catrina Mexican Restaurant. This is a fun night for all and the attendees get to vote for their favorite restaurant, with the top three restaurants receiving plaques.
Many more eateries are expected to show off their culinary talents. Thanks to the Food Network, I look at chefs as pure artists. Plating is just as important as taste. After all, we tend to eat with our eyes!
