My sisters from overseas, along with my brother-in-law, and my brother from a distant province came home as my only younger brother got married almost a week ago. Asidd from the special occasion, it is also a great moment for us to be reunited. A day after the wedding, I helped in to prepare the dinner which included buying the ingredients in the supermarket, and market. It is not easy though because of the holiday rush. But I gladly make it. Here are the foods we prepared.
Salad
The broccoli was just steamed, and added other ingredients such as carrots and corn kernel. There's sald dressing around, but it's up for someone if he will use it or not. This one is part of a healthy diet.
Baked Chicken Drumstick
I looked for drumsticks from the supermarket, and good thing they are the easiest one to find. With Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and other ingredients, and baked in the oven, this is the end result. This is a specialty of my sister from Singapore.
Maja Blanca
I like maja blanca, but we didn't prepare this. Cooking maja blanca will take a lot of time and process. This was brought by the newlywed sister-in-law. Someone gave it to her, and brought it to our dinner.
Baked Penne/Macaroni
I am a big fan of macaroni or pasta. This is a specialty of my sister-in-law. Instead of using macaroni, they used penne pasta. So it is safe to say this is baked penne. With spaghetti sauce, cream, evaporated milk, mozzarella cheese, and some herbs, this is very delicious and enticing.
Letchon Paksiw
I actually cooked this one. We had leftover letchon from the wedding, so I was asked to cook letchon paksiw, and this is the result. It has liver spread, Mang Tomas sarsa, soy sauce, whole black peppers, sugar, and vinegar.
It is great to spend some time with family. We are a big family with 9 siblings. Our parents already passed away. All we can do is have the bond to go closer as we rarely get completed. We now have the extended family and conplement each other.
