Wow ! I made it to another one ! 63 years! Time has flown so fast it hardly seems more than 20. ha ha.... I know lots of women are reluctant to state their ages, but it has never bothered me... and by now.... I am certainly just happy to still be here !
I made the cake above that has Happy Birthday on it. Colorful ! Right ? I use to bake and decorate cakes from my home. It was fun. Since birthdays here are usually about cake of some sort, I thought I'd share a few I made.
I made the cupcakes below too. They were for a family gathering.
Back when I was making cakes for others, this was one of my favorite ones to do. It is so colorful and happy.... and who doesn't love Bert and Ernie ?? !!
I made the one below for one of my nephew's 1st birthday. There are clowns holding up the top layer.
The B on the top and the number 1 decor on the sides were homemade cookies decorated with royal icing, so they could be eaten too. I made the inside layers rainbow, so it was even more beautiful when it was cut.
Ok... time to run ! Going to Moms to spend the afternoon with her and my sisters and tonight my brother is taking me out for Birthday Supper !
Mom still makes us all a birthday cake... well.... a lot of times it is not cake, it is whatever dessert we want. Today my birthday cake is ....PIE.... a chocolate one and a vinegar one (most people call vinegar pie, chess pie ! ha ha)... .but this old recipe called it Vinegar Pie. They are both divine and yes.... I will be having a slice of both !
Can't get better than that !
