Hey Steemians. Have you tried a new dish of late, be it eating or cooking? If not, I welcome you to peruse my blog as I'm confident there's at least one or two recipes you'd be excited to try. Speaking of recipes, today you'll learn how to make mango chutney.
Ingredients
. Four large mangoes, stoned, peeled, and sliced
. Salt
. Four garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
. 450 grams caster sugar
. Two baking apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
. One tbsp English mustard powder
. One tbsp grated fresh root ginger
. 600 ml white wine vinegar
. One tbsp cayenne pepper
And below is the procedure,
. Place the mango slices in a large bowl and sprinkle with salt then leave overnight. Come morning drain off the juice and rinse the pieces.
. Mix the garlic, apples, sugar, ginger, mustard, pepper, and vinegar in a pan and heat over low heat. Ensure the sugar dissolves.
. Bring the mix to a boil and add the mangoes. Simmer for half an hour or until the chutney is thick and syrupy.
. Pour into sterilized jars and seal. Store in cool, dry place and away from light.
. Once opened, refrigerate and use within a month.
You can use mango chutney as a filling, dip, meat glaze, sauce, topping, et cetera. Do some more research and spice up your meals with mango chutney, Yum! Enjoy
