The Country Cow Deli - Bacon, Egg & Cheese Review

The Country Cow Deli is a legendary breakfast sandwich joint situated on the Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield, CT. They are best known for their bacon, egg and cheese sandwich variations. I have been going to this place for a few years now and I believe they have my order down to a science.

The Order:
Bacon, Egg & Cheese, Over-Medium on a Hard Roll with Home-fries, Pepper & Ketchup.

I love a good over-medium egg, it provides a nice flow of the yolk while making sure the egg whites are cooked. The home-fries at The Country Cow are a must add for any sandwich. They aren't exactly the crispiest of home-fries, but they are full of onions and peppers which are bursting with flavor. The go-to cheese at the Country Cow is ooey gooey American and it really holds the sandwich together well. It all comes together on a lightly toasted, fluffy hard roll with poppy seeds. It always looks like the perfect hard roll. I believe they butter it up before adding the sandwich toppings.

This place is situated in a shaggy little strip mall on the side of a busy street. They serve breakfast and lunch like a typical deli, but everyone knows it's all about the bacon egg and cheese's.

When you are standing at the counter it sorta feels like you are in a gas station. The interior is nothing but a deli counter and few soda-pop refrigerators. They accept cash only, but I believe there is an ATM in the corner.

As you can see, it truly is a perfect hard-roll. The nice fluff and the coating of poppy-seeds makes for a great sandwich.

Once you open this bad boy up you really start to salivate. The layers of cheese, home-fries and yolk dripping egg look incredibly delicious. This sandwich runs you $5.10 but it is worth every penny.

If you are ever driving down I-95 in the morning it is definitely worth a stop. Heck, if you love good food, it is worth the trip from wherever you are. Once you have a bacon, egg and cheese from The Country Cow, you start to crave them every morning. They make a wonderful sandwich.
