In the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the barbecue is a traditional dish and the carreteiro rice.
Carreteiro rice:
A local drink from this region is called chimarrão which is made with the infusion of dried leaves of the yerba mate and is a trademark of the gauchos cowboys.
In the state of Paraná, a traditional dish is the barreado, which is made with mixtures of meat accompanied by manioc flour and banana.
In the state of Santa Catarina, a traditional dish is the Fish Cauldron.
