The rain from Hurricane Harvey made its way to Indiana Friday and Saturday. With all the rain, there was no way I was going to do any harvesting from the garden.
After church today I went out to check on things and found these okra. A couple of them, those on the outside, decided to try to become monster okra.
The only way I eat okra is raw. I've never liked it once it's cooked. Too slimy. I'm sure there are ways to cook it that it doesn't come out slimy but I've never had any cooked that way.
I'm afraid that those two long ones are probably going to be woody and tough since they are so big.
Lesson from this? Once it starts coming in, check the okra every day, no matter if it's raining or not.
