I’m a venezuelan and a coffee lover. Recently, I was working as a barista in a Fancy local coffee shop, where I realized how the people asked for coffee: the people who ordered it the italian way, and the people who ordered it the venezuelan way. Its interesting to see how our culture gave names to the different ways of coffee beverages that exist.
Now, I will mention some of the creative names our people has given to the different types of coffee drinks, and their italian equivalents:
- Espresso or Ristretto- Negrito Corto
- Doppio or Lungo- Negrito Largo
- Americano- Guayoyo
- Latte- Con Leche
- Cappuccino- Marrón (Claro or Oscuro, this nouns may vary according to the amount of Espresso)
- Latte Macchiato- Teterito
