When you go to ramen restaurant in Japan, there are always at least three flavors in the menu.
So today l will introduce you these three common ramen flavors.
Shoyu is soy sauce flavor which is most common flavor and popular from kids too!
Japanese people uses soy sauce a lot and gives familiar taste, so people often choose this flavor.
Shio is salt favor which was most popular flavor when l took my american friends to japanese ramen restaurant.
Also if you want to taste the restaurant's broth, shio is the best one to chose since they are not flavored with other sauces.
Miso is fermenting soy bean paste. Have you ever had miso soup? Miso soup is made of miso and dashi (broth).
Anyway, miso gives nice rich flavor to ramen and sometimes restaurant charges extra for miso ramen.
If you like deep strong flavor, l recommend miso ramen!
When you go to new ramen restaurant, best bet is to ask for reccomendation!
Each restaurant makes different soup and sauces, so don't make your favorite and try different flavors :)
