The Carolina Reaper has a Scoville heat unit SHU) of 1.569 million. SHU is a measurement of spiciness which is an inexact measure of capsaicinoid concentration . For example i you might be more familiar with tabasco sauce which has SHU of 2500-5000.
I love my chillis. But that Carolina Reaper is a different degree of heat! I tried it the other day and initially you think 'yes, thats alright!' And then the heat gets worse and i swear i could blow flames like a dragon!
Tip: if you want to take the edge of the chilli heat, try milk.
