Hello dear Steemians
Eating Like God in Eastern Europe
and I
have celebrated a belated sylvester eve together and decided to go to an east european restaurant. Â Matreshka is located in the Boxhagenerstr. 60 and they serve russian- ukrainian food. We were lucky and got a table. All completely reserved and booked out - no wonder on Friday evening.
As a starter we drank a delicious beer. Unfortunatlely I do not remember the brand but it tasted a little bit like belgian Leffe beer which I really like very much.
On the walls you find nice original paintings.
ordered a cabbage roll with mashed potatoes and a super sauce.
I tried the goulash with fried potatoes and green salad.
During the meal you get a vodka and of course one at the end. Both free on the house.
Conclusion: Both meals were very tasty and the homemade sauces are very good. The beer is awesome and a love on the first sip there I even have to make another #beersaturday about it. The vodka is also very good but 2 for unexperienced drinkers is a bit dangerous. It's really quite strong. We paid about 25 Euro for everything. I nearly forgot to mention that the service was really friendly and good. Very clear a thumps up and a strong recommendation.
At home we had a great, icecold Birch vodka from the same restaurant - a crowning finale.
