It’s been awhile since my last healthy habits post, and the topic today is a delicious one: Snacking! I’ve been meaning to write down all of my favorite whole food snacks in one place as an easy reference. I’m hoping this is helpful for others too!
Here is a list of my favorite whole food snacks… I plan to add to this over time. I try to keep snacks between 100-200 calories. If there are any of your favorites I missed- let me know below! I love sharing good ideas.
Easy Whole Food Snacks
- one whole piece of fruit
- 1 cup berries
- 1 homemade granola bar
- 3/4 cup plain greek yogurt, 1/2 cup berries, stevia and cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp peanut butter on celery with cinnamon
- 1 small soy milk latte
- 2 Tbsp honey cinnamon almond butter with one sliced apple
- 1/2 cup strawberries with 1 Tbsp dark chocolate chips
- 1 rice cake with 1/2 a banana, cinnamon, and 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 2-3 pieces dark chocolate
Savory Snacks
- 1/4 cup mixed nuts
- 2 hard boiled eggs with salt, pepper, and hot sauce
- 3 Tbsp hummus, raw bell pepper slices, and 7-10 whole grain pita chips
- 1 cheese stick with 7-10 whole grain crackers and mustard
- 1 piece of whole grain toast with 1/4 avocado and salt and pepper
- 2 cups plain popped popcorn with lime, salt and chili powder
