Yesterday afternoon I took my 15-year old daughter who is off for some time during the summer out for lunch. She has a fascination with Russian and East European culture, so we decided to go to a restaurant that would be so fitting.
The restaurant is called Moldova, which serves Russian and East European food. Moldovan food obviously as well, and it's really all intertwined for the most part. The dishes I am talking about.
So I tried chicken tabaka and buckwheat kasha. It's a fried Cornish hen covered in different spices and garlic. It was excellent.
My daughter had a dish that mostly consisted of meat perogies which came with sour cream on the side but she didn't use it.
It is a quiet restaurant with an intimate setting. The food was excellent and she enjoyed it. The service was good too. I would most definitely go back and she wants to as well.
