[Foodie Diary] All-you-can-eat Shabu-shabu in Koreatown, Los Angeles 샤부샤부 엘에이 맛집

On Thursday, I met up with my ex-coworkers to hang out and grab dinner.
We went to a restaurant called Shabuya located in Koreatown, Los Angeles.

There, I experienced a Shabu-shabu heaven. 🌟

Exquisite!

Do I hear tummies growling or what? LOL

I love how they have individual pot and you can fill it up with the soup base of your choice. Huoguo and Original are the two most popular soup base. I chose 火锅(Huǒguō) soup base. If you add Kimchi to Huoguo, it tastes like 김치찌개(Kimchi Stew) so try it out if you're a Kimchi fan.

The servers deliver meat of your choice but sides including sauce are self-served. In the middle of the restaurant, there is a bar where you can get various vegetables, noodles, fish cake and seafood. You can create the sauce of your own there as well.

This is a sauce that my ex-coworker made me and it was sooooooo good.
I wanted to learn the recipe but it was kept a secret. 😭 It tasted similar to salsa yet different. My guess is to add a tiny bit of soy sauce and minced garlic to a salsa recipe. I will have to experiment.

After you are finished with Shabu-shabu, the server makes porridge for you. The visuals may not compare to its level of deliciousness! One can only regret not to finish the porridge because stomach storage has maximized by Shabu-Shabu already.

목요일에 전 회사동료들과 오랜만에 먹부림하려고 만났어요.
코리아타운 엘에이에 위치한 무제한 샤부샤부 식당으로 갔는데 진짜 대박이었어요.
사진만 봐도 느껴지지 않나요? 선홍빛 고기와 함께할 가벼운 야채들 그리고 펄펄 끓는 훠궈탕! 맥주 버블도 침샘이 고이게 하는것 같아요. 츄릅츄릅🍺
이날 엄청 먹어서 아직까지도 배부른것같은 느낌인데 사진보니까 다시 또 먹고싶네요. ㅎ...

고기는 서버가 가져다주고 야채, 오뎅, 면, 해물 등의 사이드는 직접 식당 중간에 위치한 바에가서 원하는 만큼 가져오는 식이에요. 테이블에 한명씩 탕이 분리되어있어서 좋았고 재료들도 싱싱했어요.
사진에 있는 소스는 동료가 만들어준 소스에요. 진짜 맛있는데 레시피를 알아내진 못했어요.ㅠㅠ 살사랑 비슷한 맛인데 또 달라요. 간장이랑 마늘이 추가가 되고 여러가지 더 들어가는거 같은데 한번 실험해봐야할것같아요.
샤부샤부를 다 먹고나면 죽을 만들어주는데 요게 또 고소하니 엄청 맛있어요! 비주얼은 그냥 그런데 이미 배불러서 몇 숟가락만 먹은게 아쉬울 정도였다는...

코리아타운에 살면서 엘에이에 놀러오는 친구들이 맛집 데려가달라고 할때가 많은데 그때마다 동네 대표로서 어딜 데려가야하나 고심하게되거든요. 그런데 앞으로 샤부야를 자주 데려갈것같아요. 엘에이 사는데 아직 안가봤다!하는 분들 꼭 가시길 추천합니다 :)
