A seafood meal is always something that I relish and enjoy and it is my favorite.
There is a restaurant in town Buckets&Buckets which is sea food specialty. They have a very unique way of serving food. There are very limited dishes on the menu, all seafood. The way here is that you need to select what sea food you want like Prawns, Crabs, Mussels, Lobsters....you select one of them and then you select your choice of curry to go with it. The preparation is made in your choice of sauce and then it is served in a bucket along with rice, potatoes and corn to go with.
We selected a mixture of Prawns and Crab and their own special sauce. It was yummy. The Bucket is filled up with good quantity so between me and hubby one is more than enough. Rather, we could not finish the whole meal. The meal is good for 3 to 4 people depending on your appetite.
Coming to this place is more of an experience than the food. It is a unique concept. The food is not served in a plate. A paper is set on the table and then the bucket is emptied on that. I do not enjoy such heavy meals very often, it is once in a way. We visited the place 2 years back and few days back my hubby thought of it again. So we decided to go over the weekend. After this all you want is your bed...hehehe.
All set for the meal. It gets messy with the crab and lobsters, so they provide a plastic apron. It is good to not mess up your clothes. You can only eat this food with hand, fork and spoon is out of question here, it will never be convenient.
The set up is like this, first they serve the rice and then they would pour the bucket filled with food between
That's like food for 4 people :-), we did stuff ourselves and manage to finish 3/4 portion but after that it was almost impossible to eat, else I would have puked :-)
The place is small and neat, it is not a fine dining restaurant but gives a very good ambiance. Both of us had a hearty meal and overstuffed ourselves. Today I am going to be very light on my meals to compensate...hehehe
