Having read in the news that Sonic the Hedgehog just turned 27 I found myself inexplicably drawn towards looking up cake designs featuring everyone's favorite blue bomber. Like any good internet rabbit hole I was pleasantly surprised with the results. The level of detail not to mention ambition of some of these designs are truly staggering.

I don't consider myself a cake aficionado. I don't even find competitive pastry cooking shows engrossing. But something about these really spoke to me. A huge happy birthday to you Sonic. Sure you were a lot funner when you're younger but you're still everyone's favorite hedgehog.
