How to tell if your apple is GMO
Since biotech foods in the U.S. do not need to be declared as such, these apples don't have GMO label on them. This means that customers who don't want this will not be able to recognize this engineered apples in the supermarket. However, and if you live in the U.S. you should definitely avoid buying your fruits from supermarkets. If you don't have another choice, then your other option is to buy apples and if they are not already sliced, slice them and see how quickly the colour changes, or whether it changes at all. GMO apples have been engineered to resist bruising and when sliced. So while a normal apple will turn brownish within few seconds or more, a GMO apple will not.
