My father made a cake using the rice cooker and also made a bottle of mulberry jam because our neighbor gave us a huge bag of mulberries from her mulberry tree. It was a time when we had very limited resources and most of our resources were usually donated in kind. It is a humbling and beautiful experience to be able to strive to still make decent meals and snacks during the times of hard struggles to survive.
Note: watch out for my father's Kimchi special! This has been our staple food during our struggle to have decent meals when we could not afford it. This is very easy to make but takes around at least 3days to ferment but it was very economical, delicious and extremely nutritious. He has been experimenting prototypes for months now to be able to document a consistent experience with the correct measurements for his Kimchi creation, striving for a beautiful tastebud explosion :p
