Food is medicine.
Whole, raw foods provide nutrients, water, and minerals. They act as a rainbow defense team, working tirelessly against the bad guys in our bodies.
As such, comfort foods nourish the soul. The aroma and mouthwatering favors bring us back in time, allowing the inner child to remember what love tastes like.
Whole wheat pasta beats enriched bleached pasta by enough that slathering on mushroom tomato sauce, fresh zucchini, cayenne flakes for circulation and a touch of goat cheese is almost as required as the sea salt is to boil the noodles.
Today, to get us through hump day and into the weekend we have just that. We maintain the delicate balance between treat and nutrition through whole food medicine, and giving in to cravings. Now, we feast!
p.s I refuse to include immaculate photos of perfect looking food every post, because sometimes reality is splashes of tomato sauce around the edges of the plate hinting that maybe, just maybe, this is seconds and not firsts. 😘
