Ingredients
1 cup sugar
½ cup ketchup
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/3 cup cider vinegar
14 oz can pineapple chunks / bits, and the juice
2 drops red food colouring optional
4 tbsp. corn flour / corn starch
¼ cup water 60ml
Combine the ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, brown sugar, and pineapple plus the pineapple juice in a small saucepan.
Bring to the boil on a low flame. Whisk the cornstarch and water together in a separate jug or bowl. Add to the saucepan stirring constantly. Add two drops of red food coloring if you like a redder colour return to a boil, until it begins to thicken, remove from the heat and that's it.
