Making dish with a minimum budget is quite challenging. The fact that we all wanted our food to taste delicious and serve with our love ones and looking at them that they are satisfied with it was worth it.
I love vegetables and replacing the meat with it will test my cooking skills. If you love to cook food I think your taste buds can determined if that dish taste good. Though many cuisines around the world has distinct level of taste, at the end of the day the cook decides if he/she created that dish exactly the way they wanted it. As for today, I'm gonna be sharing my no meat lumpia (spring roll) that anyone can do at home.
Ingredients:
2-3 pieces of Tofu
2 cloves of garlic
1 piece of Sayote
Salt and pork seasoning
Spring roll wrapper
Cooking oil for frying
Instructions:
1.Cut sayote into tidbits. As much as possible make it smaller. Wash and drain sayote and set aside.
2.Wash tofu and mash it using fork. I used my hands so that I can mashed it faster.
3.Get a frying pan and saute garlic and sayote. Sprinkle some salt and keep an eye so that it won't stick on the pan.
4.Check if sayote is already cooked. Add your desired seasonings, salt and pepper.
5.Allow it to cool before proceeding to the next step.
6.Once it has cooled down, cut your spring roll wrapper divided into four parts. I used large size of wrapper.
7.At this point get a spoon to be your measurement and lock lumpia as usual.
8.Seal the edges with water or egg wash. Make sure to secure it tightly so that when you fry these, it won't break at all.
9.Set your flame in a low medium heat. Fry lumpia till both sides are golden brown. Drain excess oil and best serve while still hot so that the crispness remains.
10.You serve it with dip but I used my home made chili garlic oil with soy sauce and calamansi.
It was a good combination and I hope you could tried it too. Thanks for reading my food blog today. Keep safe everyone, Gracias ❤
