This is one of the easiest and most delicious versions of raw-vegan, gluten free, dairy-free chocolates I’ve made so far.
I tested this version yesterday evening and the only caveat was that the end result was of only 13 pieces. Because they are so delicious I wish there were more ;) But now that I know I like this recipe, I can do more anytime.
Ingredients (enough for about for 13 pieces)
almonds - 2tbsp
sunflowers seeds - 2 tbsp
husked hemp seeds - 6 tbsp
dry dates without pits, partially rehydrated - 6
carob or cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
water - 2-3 tbsp or as needed
rum essence - 1-2 drops
some carob and hemp seeds for final decorating
Instructions
Blend the almonds, sunfloweer seeds and hemp seeds in an S shape blender until it transforms into a coarse flower.
Remove from the blender and add the dates and a bit of water if needed. After the dates are smooth enough add the blended seeds, the carob, rum and 1-2 tbsp of water.
Blend until it turns into a thick paste. With a spoon take small pieces and roll them in your hands to form tiny balls that you then toss in carob or hemp seeds. The paste is very sticky so you need some coating for this too, not only for the cool final aspect. If there's any leftovers keep them in the fridge in a box so they don't get dry.
Me and both agree this is a balanced, yummy recipe and that I should do more of it soon.
These sweets are not too sweet, and they give you a good dose of proteins, healthy fats and precious minerals.
I think I've nailed the perfect, guilt free snack or desert! :)
Let me know how you like this recipe if you try it.
