Tidying the kitchen was on today's chores list, and I took the opportunity to take everything out of the cupboards and see how much food I've actually got in stock.
I feel like I've bought a LOT of food over the last month, mainly because I can't guarantee the supermarkets will have in stock what I want, so I've stockpiled to an extent, to the point that I needed to figure out what needs eating.
Here's all the food in my house ATM:
Dry dinner type goods, condiments
I've had that tuna for a long time, haven't been in the mood for it for ages!
Herbs and spices
Hope you appreciate the arrangement, and have you ever noticed how many spices start with 'C'?
Breakfast goods, tea, coffee, baking stuff (tilt head left)
A blurry picture of some more breakfast type goods
Apologies for the dodgy photos - it's moments like when can't upload portrait photos when I start to wonder if this place is ever going to appeal to the masses.
A few extra bits on top of the fridge....
I've also got a full freezer and some fresh stuff in the fridge, but they don't photo so well, and they'd probably rotate by the time I upload them to here.
I don't think this is too obsessive.....
I estimate I've got enough for the following:
- Carbs/ pulses for about 80 dinners.
- But only enough tins of shit and stuff in the freezer to make 30 'decent' dinners.
- Cereal staples for about 40 breakfasts.
- About 20 000 calories worth of nuts and seeds.
- Enough herbs, spices and oil to last several months.
- Tea and coffee for about one month.
Fresh goods are my weak point - I don't really do frozen veg, except peas.
So all in all, 2-3 months worth of staples stockpiled. Personally I don't think that's obsessive, I think that's normal, or is it?
