Banana 'Kleung' is one of the biggest bananas type in Indonesia. The name 'Kleung' comes from the Acehnese language meaning hawk, this name is pinned to this banana because of its large long shape and similar to the wings of an eagle.
This type of banana is very rarely planted by farmers, especially in Aceh, because it feels less tasty if eaten instantly compared with other types. But, eagle banana is often used by the community to make Fried Bananas.
In addition to fried, eagle banana is also very tasty if eaten after the boiled. Communities in Aceh often eat eagle bananas after being boiled for their food while in the fields or in their garden ofas a replacement potatoes or boiled cassava.
