I may be a keen photographer but truly when it comes to fruit smoothies there will never be anyone to compare to for making a smoothie look more beautiful than words can describe. Nevertheless this is a fruit smoothie post for you all. Even more important than beautiful photography is healthy eating and this is what this post is about.
My smoothie recipe is simple, nutritious and delicious. They vary from day to day depending on what fruit I have available. There are no rules in making delicious smoothies. It Is simply just a case of what fruit do you love, or what fruit do you have! 😉
Today I have fresh picked papaya, apple, frozen bananas and frozen blackberries. Once the apple and papaya are diced they go into the blender jug along with the blackberries and bananas, a splash of iced water and a dollop of local organic honey that the bees shared with us. Thank you bees!
Fresh red fruits are one thing that are not so plentiful in this part of Costa Rica but blackberries are available so I buy a kilo at a time and freeze them as with all foodstuffs in this country they do not keep long.
It is chilled and resfreshing, bursting with flavor and vitamins. Smoothies are the ultimate fast food.
Smoothies are great for everyone’s health. They are the fastest way to consume a plate full of fruit too so great fun for your kids to enjoy before school in the mornings.
