Have I told you lately how much I ❤ smoothie bowls?
I ❤ them hard.
Smoothie bowls are a way you can enjoy heaps of healthy "dessert" all day long!
So easy, creamy, delicious, nutritious - all you have to do is blend frozen bananas, maybe a bit of liquid to get it going...and really that's it, that's pretty epic by itself! Frozen bananas are where it's at; they blend up real smooth and dreamy, like ice cream. Fresh bananas get too slimy, and they aren't cold and amazing.
You can add anything you want to that luscious, velvety, whipped frozen banana base!
I like raw cacao powder for chocolate banana, that's my almost daily staple. Sometimes I add other fruits or powders if I want to mix things up.
If I'm feeling super fancy, I make one frozen banana smoothie base and one brightly colored fruity goodness variety. Then I swirl the 2 together in creative patterns and maybe top it with more sprinkles & dankness - fresh fruits, frozen fruits, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, peanut or almond butter, coconut, whipped cream, chocolate, fresh mint, squeeze of lemon or lime, cinnamon, cayenne pepper...the sky's the limit!
Then I feed them to the people I love, and we all rejoice in the glory that is the smoothie bowl.
