We serve open faced sandwiches in Scandinavia.
It just called “skive” which basically just means “a slice” (of bread.)
Today I visited Renaa Matbaren in Stavanger.
The occasion was that my cousin from the US is visiting, miss !
Yummy rye bread, one with steak, mustard and an onion ring, one with chicken salad and herbs. Wowzaaaa!
We also happen to be unhealthy slobs, so we shared this burger:
I love this restaurant. They have great food, friendly staff and nice art on the walls!
Trina also tasted “Eplemost” for the first time. It’s very Norwegian. It’s like if freshly squeezed apple juice, sprite, non alcoholic apple cider and sparkling water had a baby. Delicious!
Trina’s grandparents are both Norwegian, that’s how we are related. And I hate to admit this, but we’re actually “just” second cousins!
She surprised her mom with a trip to Norway, and I’m so excited that they’re here. Trina’s mom hasn’t been to Norway in 47 years!
She is a drama queen (or dramadronning as I call her in Norwegian), and so is her mom. Her mom started the trip by falling down the stairs at the house she’s staying in. LOL! I’m pretty relieved she didn’t hurt herself, as they are only here for six days.
Women!!!
