This recipe has had THOUSANDS of views on Facebook and YouTube and is not hard to see why when a treat is this delicious and easy to make!!
It is excellent for a bake sale or as a special treat enjoyed with a hot cup of Tea or Coffee.
Now the small cheat in this recipe is the use of store bought Shortbread biscuits which you need to turn to dust in a food processor or with a rolling pin! This step works perfectly and saves you the bother of making Shortbread from scratch, which let's face it, is a huge faff.
Then on to making the Caramel layer which could not be easier - a simple case of melting brown sugar with butter and then mixing in Condensed Milk. After a short time boiling, your perfect Caramel is ready to pour over the Shortbread layer.
This then needs to be cooled in the fridge before adding the final chocolate topping and I like to use a mix and dark and white chocolate - YUM!
To make a 20cm x 20cm slab of this gorgeous treat you'll need:
250g Shortbread (Shop bought? I know!)
150g Dark Brown Sugar
397g Condensed Milk (that's usually one tin)
60g Butter (For the base)
150g Butter (For the caramel layer)
200g Dark Chocolate
60g White Chocolate
You can follow along with me in my video recipe here and claim the work as you own (promise I won't tell).
Big Hugs
