Hello all you lovely Steemians,
It's that day in the week, where your memories of last weekend are starting to fade and you cannot wait for the upcoming weekend to come! With that in mind, we would like to remind ourselves and let you know of what delicious food we had on Saturday. It's another edition of Tasty Tuesday's!
There are so many Western restaurants in Bangkok that it is hard to pick one that stands out! This restaurant that we will mention is a contender to stick in the minds of its visitors.

On Saturday, it was Sam's nephew's first birthday and his parents decided to celebrate near their home at this Mexican restaurant called 'Tacochela'. Like our other review of a restaurant in Bangkok, it is also based in the Ari area. We had tried this restaurant before as Sam's sister invited us for an early Christmas meal before everyone in the family departed to spend Christmas in their respective destinations.

Tacochela opened in the summer of 2017, so it's not even a year old. The restaurant prides itself on serving authentic Mexican tacos, quesadillas and cerviche. The restaurant is owned by Mikkeller, which is a Danish craft beer company. You guessed it, there is beer on tap by Mikkeller. Chilled craft beer on draft with tacos? Sign me up!

The restaurant did a great job with the decor, both in general and for Sam's nephew's birthday. The food Sam's sister ordered was tortilla chips (homemade) with fresh guacamole as well as scallop and seafood cerviche for appetizers. Afterwards, we were treated with taco boards - Chicken Tinga tacos, Fried Fish tacos, Pork Chorizo tacos and Beef Alambre tacos. These were all accompanied with side sauces, which we asked what they were and the owner just said - "Las Salsas". He was giving no secrets away. All the sauces (las salsas) tasted amazing and complimented the tacos. Yet, the tacos were delicious by themselves too.

The piece de resistance came at the end. But just before the birthday surprise, the owner had setup a piñata outside and all the other kids lined up to have a go at breaking the piñata. It only took two strikes before all the candy fell to the floor. The birthday surprise was of course, the birthday cake. Sam's nephew got a very special birthday cake. A layered rainbow sponge cake with vanilla filling. It was definitely a crowd pleaser that was Instagram worthy. Overall, it was a great evening to celebrate Sam's nephew's first birthday with close family and friends.
