As the Sun is burning these days and temperature levels are rising and summer is at its peak, and the scorching sun gives us various reasons to continuously hunt for relaxing foods which can comfort us in the heat.
You may get dehydrated easily due to excess perspiration and that's the time whenever you seem like reaching out for something cold like sodas, drinks or cold water. This is where we go wrong because anything extremely low in temperature can restrict our blood vessels affecting the heat loss process from our body.
Increase your water intake.
That's the reasons why you should drink enough water periodically even when you're not thirsty, to cool your system. Eat plenty of fresh fruits, raw salads, and lightly spiced foods. Vegetables and fruits are simple to digest and high in water content which helps in hydration.
Avoid fried and junk foods as they take the time to digest and request a lot of water.
Spicy foods may also increase body heat. Drink naturally cooling drinks like coconut water, lemon juice, buttermilk, sugarcane juice, etc.
As opposed to aerated soft drinks, caffeine, and alcohol as they contain sugar along with other preservatives which act as diuretics and may cause loss of water from the body.
You may add vegetable juice to drinks as it's got a cooling effect on the body.
The Curd is excellent for summers because it increases friendly bacteria in the intestine and improves digestion and boosts immunity.
Add vegetarianism like cucumbers, tomato, carrots, spinach, beet, to add to increase the water content within your body.
Avoid heavy meals at one the time as it may cause acidity and affect digestion.
Rather, eat small meals to feel light and keep the system active. Raw mango is a special fruit in the summer season and is extremely good for preventing insolation and weakness.
Raw mango juice might help balance electrolytes within the body.
You may also have raw mango in any form like adding it in salads or make a dish out of it.
Heres a sample summer diet which you could follow:
Breakfast:
Eat 2-3 fresh fruits as they might help to neutralize stomach acids and make you feel light and active.They're natural energy sources.
Mid morning:
Have a glass of buttermilk/ coconut water to refresh you. Lunch: Have a bowl of salad with 1-2 bread, vegetarianism and thin peas.
Evening:
Have fruit yoghurt/fruit smoothie. They're filling, nourishing and very cooling. Dinner: Always have a light dinner, especially during summers.Here are some summer diet options.
Stir - fried veggies/ chilled soups + grilled chicken/ steamed fish/ low fat paneer/ tofu + jaljeera/ lemon juice.
The aforementioned diet is low fat diet, medium in protein and high in good complex carbohydrates which help control obesity, blood pressure level, cholesterol and several other ailments.
