With more and more people heading to Noumea the local food scene has really kicked up a gear since I was last in town. There are lots of options for sweet french delights, but the one that excited me most was Chocolats Morand.

Behind a nondescript door on Rue Eugene Porcheron you will find some of the best chocolates and deserts outside of France.The macarons are exceptional and the handmade chocs are a delight. The shop obviously caters for a lot of locals with larger cakes, gift items, and special orders. It's great to see all of the products being made on the premises.
