Have you ever popped popcorn straight off of the cob? We hadn't either, until we found this cute "Farmer's Popcorn Cob."
I was skeptical but anxious to try it! This wasn't your typical HUGE GMO corn on the cob. It was a modest little cob, firm to the touch and a deep yellow color. spotted this at a local candy shop that has every kind of candy you can think of along with novelty items like this one.
So, I followed the directions and placed the cob into the bag, rolled the bag up and microwaved it for 2 minutes.
I guess 2 minutes wasn't quite long enough because there was still some kernels on the cob.
The popcorn tasted fresh and much more like a fresh popped popcorn rather than a bagged popcorn. We did need to add a little salt for our liking. The kids ate it up quick! I think we will stick to your traditional way of popping popcorn but the novelty was a fun experiment. It gave my kids more of a visual as to where popcorn actually comes from. What do you think, do they look satisfied?
