I would say these are, the broccoli and especially the cauliflower, half the size compared to last year.
The former is from Spain, the latter Germany.
The carrots well who knows really, seems like Italy though.
Why these can not be grown locally baffles me.
Not only do we not know if they are GMO and lacking nutrition, we also have no idea what pesticides are on them.
With this in mind we are going to try to make an all year around greenhouse.
As 95% of what we eat is plant based, fruit and vegetables, it seems only sensible to grow it our self.
A local farmer supplies very high quality seeds and at a reasonable price, so that is the first port of call after sourcing a large greenhouse.
This is going to take passion and dedication. But I would rather put effort into that, and talking about that, rather than politics - as it is not only consuming my time, thoughts and fun levels, it is draining my soul too.
Time for change, and change starts with self.
My mother rang you see.
She asked me why Bill Gates is suddenly a doctor. I said he has always specialized in viruses, windows first - now disease. The conversation went onto me describing his two foundations, one for profit that gets funneled money via his other one. One invests in pharmaceutical companies, the other pretends to be for the good of humanity.
I would much rather have been talking to her about my daughter, fun times, family, but there you go, she wanted to know, but it makes zero difference to anything, was she happier by knowing the above? No, and neither am I.
So let's change the topic to a sustainable future by self growth and growing food.
