I've been putting this off but in the interests of fair and unbiased sports journalism, here is the match report from Australia when Leeds United took on Manchester United in front of 55000 spectators and came out the 4-0 losers.
Leeds were rubbish. Manchester United were slightly less rubbish, and they had Pogba who was playing out of his skin to try and look good in front of prospective buyers as he also hates Manchester and is looking for a transfer.
At the end of the day, the game wasn't important and meant nothing as it was only friendly for heaven's sake!
BUT....
We actually got 1 more yellow card than them, hence we won. Congratulations to Kalvin Phillips for that!
Here we see Kalvin Phillips leaving Pogba for dead (don't ask me where I found this pic! Sorry Mr Getty lol )
Meanwhile in Tadcaster, England....
at the i2i 'stadium' (2,000 Seats. 159 covered. Standing 100), the slightly tired, International contingent of players we left behind were playing a pre-season friendly against the mighty Tadcaster Albion who last season finished 4th from bottom in the Northern Premier League Division One North-West (no, me neither!)
Tadcaster, whose nickname is 'The Brewers' due to them being conveniently situated behind the famous John Smith's brewery, put out such a strong team that the Leeds United Official website had no idea who they were and therefore didn't show the team on their official match report! As for us, we had someone called 'trialist' in goal!
Tadcaster Albion 1 (Day 49)
Leeds United 5 (Edmondson 10, 64, 75, Clarke 20, Gotts 45)
Leeds: Trialist, Gotts, White, Davis, Alioski (Struijk 61), Jenkins, Klich, Temenuzhkov, Clarke, Costa (Mujica 61), Edmondson. Subs not used: Rae, Kenneh, Casey.
Sadly, this was live on LUFC TV for free and I missed it. The 'other' game had also been on but that was £7.99 to watch it so I didn't bother.
Speaking to a friend who actually went to the game with his dog, he said Leeds actually played really well with Jack Clarke, Helder Costa and the development squad player, Ryan Edmondson being the stand-out performers. If we had used this team to play Man. U we would have surely come away victorious!
Anyway, the match finished a few minutes early as there was a power cut and all the lights went off and as it was 9.30pm, it was a bit dark and no one could see the ball. Seriously, I kid you not!!
If wishes to watch the highlights of Leeds vs Man U, the only opportunity he will ever get to see Pogba again, he can do here
Meanwhile. Leeds have left Perth and have headed to Sydney for our second and final pre-season game of this tour against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday 20th July (10:00am BST) at Bank West Stadium, Sydney.
No problems beating these. My forecast is 4-1 to Leeds :-)
