"Nunchucks," Birds Nest Guy said suddenly leaning over and holding his hand out to Kelly.
"Sorry?"
"My name," Birds Nest Guy said. "Is Nunchucks."
"Oh," Kelly said taking his hand and shaking it. His palm was dry, calloused, in contrast to her hand, moist with anxiety. "My name is Kelly."
Nunchucks looked at her for a moment and then stood up. "Sorry," he said. "But this is not going to work." He picked up the newspaper and stepped away from the table.
Kelly stood up and grabbed hold of his sleeve. "Please," she said. "You are my only hope."
He stopped. "Kelly. You have given your real name to a man you have met in a coffee shop. You did not use the correct phrases to check that I am...who I am supposed to be." He leaned in and whispered into her ear. "If I was Government, you would be halfway to an internment camp by now. Or worse."
Kelly took a deep breath. "Please, Mr Nunchucks," she said. "I need you to help me. My mother is dead. My father is missing."
