As I have mentioned before I am the eldest of 6 Children , perfectly planned , 3 Boys First and then 3 Girls, and although I don't really recall it , we sometimes had hard times , I remember being mocked about wearing my Grandfather's Trouser's to School .
So what, I could punch harder than most!
We obviously did not eat out much ,
as a matter of fact I , don't remember doing so, other than Picnic's and I loved buying takeaway Chips , when I could.
Skip a few years, I am Married to Chris , Henry , to her Sister, Elize. We are both Working Overtime on a Friday night at the Post Office ( which at that time ran the Telecommunications Network in South africa).
I forget the Hotel Name but they were having the First, All You can eat Carvery , I had ever heard of?
We have an Hour Supper Break , Henry and I head off there as we will be working till about 2200Hrs.
It was Great as I recall I had 5 plates and Henry had 4 .
Our time was just about up , so I walked up to the Manager , told him the food was excellent ( really) but unfortunately we were not able to take advantage of their offer as we had to get back to work.
When we got Back to the Jeppe street Building , we enthused about our Meal so much , a Couple of the other Guys went there and soon came back , somewhat Crestfallen!
The all you can eat sign was crossed out? unbelievable, they could have used us as an advert to encourage normal people to eat there?
Years Later I worked at a Computer Company called Systems Integration , and a couple of
The Managers and the Owner took me out to Lunch , saying they had finally found something that I would not Manage? Amateurs, it was a 2.5 Kg Steak which I sorted out in no time, Much Respect Earned.
Occasionally I still hit the Porterhouse nowadays but age has caught up with me. and I am quite content with one plate.
We have some really bad spelling on signs here and where I saw Restaurants advertising Gluten free, I thought it was an outright way of banning me from the premises ,
as soon as I found out what Gluten actually entailed ,and had nothing to do with Gluttons, I realised I was welcome anywhere!
I have never posted a photo of myself on Steemit, but I am living proof that Food does not make you fat,
