Last week I wrote about Optic's upcoming CSGO roster changes. I went so far as to speculate the US-based team might live in Europe for the foreseeable future.
It turns out they have, in fact, gone with a fully European lineup consisting of Mixwell, Friburg, Magisk, allu, and youngster HS.
However, to conform with ESL Pro League rules, they will be playing a majority of their regular season games from within the US. As for their future home base, that remains uncertain, due not the least of which to all 5 players hailing from different countries.
Dinged by Rule Changes
Although none could argue that the new Optic doesn't look extremely promising, the organization was forced to make a few concessions in order to lock in this lineup.
For example, they have been kicked from tomorrow's DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017 due to no longer fielding the core line-up that initially registered for the tournament.
Optic have also been disqualifed from the $1,000,000 ELEAGUE Premier tournament for the same reason.
The organization has just two days to prove that they have the capacity to play a majority of their online matches for ESL Pro League Season 6 from within North America.
