I’ve been topping all of the long heads that stick out on my basil bush to keep an even canopy, but some of the stems grow so much faster and stronger than others. Sometimes when I let one stem get longer than the others, it get significantly more sun and makes it grow even more!
This massive basil leaf is a result of the extra sun at the top of the canopy, and a very healthy and thick stem. I’m using MiracleGro fertilizer and adding the dead tomato and basil cuttings to the soil. Very minimal light, it’s actually in a corner covered by much larger tomato plants.
Thanks for looking.
