Dear tree huggers, bonsai tenders, cactus queens & weed wranglers, it's time for another fortnightly challenge. It seems they've turned into a bit of a thing. I think I'm just avoiding doing the fortnightly curation as I can't live up to who does it so well. Once I get a silly idea in my head it's hard to hold back, and I do love how you all join in commenting and getting to know each other, and having a laugh. A little while ago
picked up on an accidental rhyme of mine, which made me compose a Hive Gardener's Poem which you may enjoy.
It'll be easier than the nude challenge I have planned next. Just kidding.
The challenge this week is to write another verse! There's so many gardeners I wanted to include but didn't - with her banana eating chickens,
's rice farming,
's hydroponics,
's agave (there's a rhyme right there),
's tropical Thailand jungle,
or
in France,
,
,
,
,
in Norway,
's permaculture garden - goodness, there's so many! If you're stuck have a look through the feed and I'm sure you'll find an avid gardener or two you can write about.
The Hive Gardener's Poem
@TheBigSweed's a beet man, it's his favourite tuber
For his love, @Farm-mom, it's flowers that move her
@Plantstoplanks, she's a squash girl - the curlier the better
Baked or stewed, with a good vegan cheddar
@Nikv's more prickly - it's succulents and cacti
And @Qwerrie, they say he's quite the fun-gi
@Nikolina's orchards are bearing beautiful fruits
In the spring, we're cheering when everything shoots
@Goldenoakfarm's bowls are full of beans
Her garden abundant with flowers and greens
@Proto26's a plantophile when he's at home
Pruning his bonsai or talking to a gnome
And ? Give him weed or a good melon stash
@Edprivat's the gif man - his posts are quite fun
God help him, though, when his potatoes are done
@Luckylaica bears typhoons, flood water & cows
But her garden still provides - goodness knows how!
Us gardeners persevere - we can't go without.
In Australia it's planting oranges and lemons
Down south finds herbs an obsession
's wrangles microbes galore
's yard has chooks, chillis and more
's new place is taking shape
We all know the pain of hoe, spade, shovel, pickaxe and rake
