This is my entry for Sunday's Goldenhourphotography contest sponsored by
Caught this lovely sunset over at North Stradbroke Island Queensland Australia when we were there for a camping trip.
This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind.
North Stradbroke covers an area of 275.2klm2 it's the world's 2nd largest sand island.
Although it comprises of almost entirely sand it exhibits a wide range of habitats of plants and animals. The most important habitats are along the eastern or ocean, side of the island consists of open beaches, frontal dunes and the 18 mile swamp, together with a small area of rocky headland at Point Lookout.
The Moreton Bay side is made up of mangroves and tidal swamps.
There are also lakes and lagoons between the two sides which are very spectacular.
There are 18 species of land mammals including Wallabies, Kangaroos, echidnas, Koalas and Bandicoots.
I highly recommend this place for a couple days to get away from it all.
