thanks for the thoughtful response
I want to clear something up though. I'm not blaming Hive for the game design problems. those are on me. the tokenomics, the P2E pressure, selling stuff I wasn't confident in. that's all my fault and I said as much in the post. nothing about that changes on a different chain and I'm not pretending it would
the reasons I don't want to stay on Hive are separate from the reasons the game struggled. they're just not what the post was about so I didn't go into detail. but there have been plenty of headaches with the chain itself that I didn't mention here. outages, everything held together by thoughts and prayers, dealing with the politics at the top. those are real problems that added up over time. Not even mentioning the state of the community and what kind of people it attracts/ratained. Mostly talking about the p2e part of Hive, not technical enthusiasts or bloggers.
you're right that Hive gave me feeless transactions and custom_json and all of that. and I'm grateful for what it enabled early on. but feeless transactions aren't unique to Hive anymore. Solana fees are fractions of a cent. and all the actual gameplay actions would still be free regardless of chain since they don't need to be on-chain in the first place. only token trading and asset transfers would hit the chain
and honestly, having the game economy tied to HIVE as the base currency when it keeps losing value made everything harder. that's not a game design problem, that's a practical infrastructure problem. trying to balance an in-game economy when the underlying currency keeps sliding is a nightmare
so yeah. the game design mistakes are mine. 100%. that's most of the reason for the proposed reset, because that's what actually needs fixing. but if I'm resetting anyway, I'm also no longer bound to Hive. and after everything, I'd rather start fresh somewhere else
appreciate the good wishes though. genuinely
