A Sensuous Illustration:
Anxiety Attack
(in a five part series of haiku poems)
Part I:
Unease and keen sense
Acute stress, dread and misdoubt
Seek solace and breath
Part II:
Frozen to the touch
Tension binds, muscles contract
Desperate to salve
Part III:
Unable to breathe
Can't think or articulate
Desperation builds
Part IV:
Stress fades and body slacks
Fear subsides, pulse starts to lull
Friend extends a hand
Part V:
Wiping tears from eyes
Extending my hand, I stand
We hold and embrace.
