Danny Sessoms and The Crypto Show
Some of you are aware that this idea was inspired by the work of Danny Sessoms of The Crypto Show who raised $50,000 USD worth of cryptocurrency in 24 hours for Harvey relief efforts. I had been in contact with him since Wednesday, 8/30/2017. We finally got to settle down and talk for a bit. After a brief liberty-minded conversation, we started to discuss our relief efforts and how we could utilize crypto to help people immediately. The end result is that we have decided to partner up our efforts and expand our network of influence. There are shelters in Austin and Dallas where the people aren't receiving as much assistance as the people sheltered in the impact zone. In Houston, the Jewish community has a shortage of kosher foods and the Muslim community has a shortage of halal foods. Everybody is being helped, thanks to the crypto movement. This new partnership expands our reach and adds a layer of accountability. Let's keep it crypto.

We called to check up on
who caught the tail end of the storm in Port Arthur, Tx. It turned out that they took on water in their home but didn't assume significant damage. I told them about the efforts of the @HarveyReleifFund and they suggested also helping steemians that has truly been affected by the hurricane. @HarveyReleifFund has created a discord channel to allow steemains to reach out to us directly. If you have been directly or personally affected by the storm, we would like to document your story on steemit and all SBD will be donated to that user. There is also a section for post-promotions related to hurricane harvey stories. We also took the liberty of adding a section for the sharing of practical information such as, dealing with landlords, safety/cleanup, acquiring federal and non-federal assistance etc.. Any and all helpful information is needed, original steemit content is encouraged.
Contingency Plans
This section is important for clarity. @VirtualGrowth encouraged me to be as clear as possible when accepting donations and @MrWang pointed out that Rockport isn't accepting anymore material donations. That made me think that we must have contingency plans in place. We are driving to Port Arthur, TX tomorrow to cook hot meals for the people in the shelters and assist with the removal of heavy waste. Partnering with Danny Sessoms opens doors for more opportunities to help. The use of the funds are NOT FLUID. We will be helping people directly impacted by hurricane Harvey whether they are in Rockport, TX or Lake Charles, LA and it will be documented on steemit.
